5 core exercises you can do without any equipment

We need to have a strong core to be able to ride at our fullest. For those of us who aren't fortunate enough to ride everyday, doing exercises to strengthen our core is essential. If you don't have any equipment at home it can be tricky coming up with exercises. Fear not, here are 5 core exercises you can do without any equipment.

  1. Planks Planks are an amazing way to work your abs and core muscles. You don't need any equipment for them and can do planks in your own bedroom. They also don't take a lot of time. You can practice a plank for one minute and side planks for 30 seconds each.

  2. V ups Just like planks, V ups are great for your abs and core muscles. You can do V ups in your bedroom on a soft carpet and best of all, you don't need any equipment.

  3. Leg lifts Leg lifts really work your core and back muscles. They may look easy but trust me, once you get to 50 you feel like you are going to drop. You can also practice leg lifts with a partner. Have your partner stand near your head so you can hold on to their ankles and you don't slide all over the place.

  4. Superman This exercise is a really good exercise to do right after leg lifts. This is also a very good exercise for the young ones. It is hard but also manageable. Like leg lifts, this can be an exercise you do with a partner. Have the partner stand on their knees above your feet. Have them squeeze their legs so that your feet don't move. Then do the exercise.

  5. Push ups Ahh the push up. The most notorious exercise of them all. This simple exercise is very good for upper body strength, targeting the abs. I recommend doing this exercise 50 times, with a break every 25 push ups. Go down on your knees if it is too hard.
